Verogy installs solar panels on Groton schools

The Town of Groton Board of Education has installed PV systems at Groton Middle School and Mystic River Magnet School, Connecticut, projected to save over $40,000 annually and $800,000 over the duration of the power purchase agreements (PPA). Facilitated by the Connecticut Green Bank’s Solar Municipal Assistance Program (MAP), Verogy installed 560 panels (230 kW) at Groton Middle School and 256 panels (100 kW) at Mystic River Magnet School. The Solar MAP provides technical and financial support for municipal solar projects, offering benefits without upfront costs, new debt, or maintenance expenses. Groton is one of several municipalities successfully implementing solar installations through this program.
