Clearway Energy Group has announced the completion of its 452 MW Texas Solar Nova complex in Kent County, Texas, generating electricity for over 190,000 homes annually. The USD 660 million investment will contribute USD 5.4 million in property taxes and wages in the first year. The complex will help Verizon, as the offtaker, in its target to achieve 50% of its electricity consumption through renewable energy. The project also backs SKF and Toyota Boshoku America in achieving decarbonization targets through Renewable Energy Certificate purchases. Clearway, with Mortenson, assisted local organizations during construction and secured financing commitments of USD 700 million and term loan commitments of USD 182 million from a bank consortium.
