CleanCapital, a U.S.-based clean energy firm, has acquired two operational solar projects—Steel Sun II and Homeridae—in upstate New York, totaling 13 MW. These projects, developed by BQ Energy, which CleanCapital acquired in 2022, provide clean energy to a university, a healthcare provider, and a municipality. M&T Bank’s Commercial Equipment Finance Group financed these assets. According to CleanCapital, this acquisition finalizes BQ Energy’s integration. The firm manages a pipeline of nearly 2 GW of solar capacity and over 8 GWh of energy storage. This move aligns with the Inflation Reduction Act and addresses rising corporate clean energy demand. CleanCapital’s portfolio now includes 242 projects across 23 states and U.S. territories, totaling 341 MW and serving over 116 customers.
