CIL invested INR 1,209 crore in solar projects

Kolkatta,India-based Coal India Ltd (CIL) has invested INR 1,209 crore (~$142.37million) in ground-mounted solar power projects with a total capacity of 661 MW. The company plans to achieve 3,000 MW of solar project capacity by 2027-28, with phased targets of 211.59 MW in FY25, 697.85 MW in FY26, 1,235 MW in FY27, and 785 MW in FY28. To ensure timely execution, CIL has deployed engineers for site monitoring and coordination with authorities for clearances. Additionally, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd invested INR 1,182.60 crore (~$139.26 million) and NLC India Ltd spent INR 6,723.59 crore (~$791.80 million) on solar power projects.
