Trinasolar, a China-based photovoltaic module supplier, develops solar and energy storage solutions and has reported new tandem solar performance results. According to Trinasolar, the company has achieved 32.6 % efficiency on an industrial larger-area perovskite crystalline silicon tandem solar cell jointly developed with Huairou Laboratory and independently certified by Fraunhofer ISE CalLab on a 210 mm half-cut format. Trinasolar said that a 3.1 m2 industrial standard-sized tandem module integrated with these cells has delivered 865 W peak power output, with certification provided by TÜV SÜD. The results were achieved through integration of large-area manufacturing processes with advanced perovskite absorber and functional layer materials. As per Trinasolar, the collaboration addressed key technical challenges related to scaling next-generation tandem photovoltaic technologies for industrial application.
