China-based Sungrow will supply and commission inverter and control systems for the 202 MWp (150 MW AC) Tauhei Solar Farm in Te Aroha, New Zealand. It will use 27 units of Sungrow’s SG6800HV-MV central inverters and one PPC1000 Power Plant Controller to support efficient grid connection to Transpower’s 110 kV network via the Waihou substation. The project, developed by Harmony Energy and Clarus, is expected to be operational by late 2026 and generate about 280 GWh of electricity annually—enough to power over 35,000 homes. The project will create around 350 jobs during construction and provide long-term local employment while contributing to New Zealand’s clean energy capacity expansion.
