LONGi joins TÜV, CGC & AIKO to launch BC Solar White Paper in Beijing

China Electricity Council, TÜV Rheinland, CGC, AIKO and LONGi detailed BC technology’s progress and efficiency gains through the release of a White Paper in Beijing.

China-headquartered LONGi, solar technology company, along with the China Electricity Council, TÜV Rheinland, China General Certification Center (CGC) and AIKO has released the Back Contact (BC) Solar Technology Development White Paper in Beijing. The White Paper explained BC technology’s industrialization path, core strengths and future growth. Professor Martin Green predicted IBC technology could replace TOPCon within five years, while Mr. Jinhua Wu and Mr. Xiaochao Zhang emphasized BC’s efficiency benefits and the need for industry collaboration. Experts from TÜV Rheinland, CGC, AIKO and LONGi also discussed standards, project results and technology improvements. BC cells reached 27.81% efficiency, reducing shading and boosting light absorption. This announcement follows LONGi Solar’s recent 100 MW module deal for a LATAM project, further reflecting its growing focus on high-efficiency solar technologies.
