China-based, Jolywood& the University of New South Wales have jointly validated the performance of Jolywood’s proprietary JSIM technology, with results published in Progress in PV. According to Jolywood, JSIM(Jolywood Special Injected Metallization) has delivered a confirmed absolute power conversion efficiency gain of 0.58%, supported by an open-circuit voltage increase of 11 mV and a higher fill factor. The study showed that JSIM significantly reduced metal-induced recombination, using Quokka 3 simulations and experimental data to isolate contact-related losses. The analysis also highlighted further optimization potential by refining emitter and grid designs. Jolywood has stated that the development of JSIM reflects its continued focus on improving TOPCon solar cell performance through material and process innovations in collaboration with academic partners.
