JA Solar, a Beijing-headquartered photovoltaic manufacturer, has released a desert-focused PV white paper with TÜV NORD during a sideline CSPV event. JA Solar said the document has combined its long desert-project experience with TÜV NORD’s testing expertise to define stronger reliability methods for harsh climates. The framework has addressed UV exposure, sand abrasion and temperature swings while outlining guidance for site selection and technical design. As per JA Solar, the DesertBlue module has used a 650 W format and a nano-coating that reduces transmittance loss by over 32 %. According to TÜV NORD, the module was validated across thermal cycling, mechanical loading and hotspot conditions that exceeded IEC limits. Field trials were reported to show measurable gains in high-heat desert regions.
