China based Hypset Solar Technology supported the Qingyuan fishery–solar complementary distributed PV project with cable-structure PV support systems. The project had an installed capacity of 11.8 MW, with a 3.5 m clearance above water and a 40 m design span. The structure was adapted to fishpond layouts, enabling full land utilization without additional construction areas. Foundation requirements were reduced by up to 80%, lowering civil works needs. Module density per unit area was about 35% higher, while overall energy yield increased by up to 5%. The elevated, large-span design allowed aquaculture operations to continue below the PV system, combining electricity generation with fish farming.
