GoodWe, a China-based manufacturer of solar inverters and energy storage solutions, has launched the EM Series single-phase, low-voltage hybrid inverter for on-grid PV applications. The inverter is used to manage energy flow between PV arrays, loads, batteries and the utility grid based on system configuration. Electricity generated during the day will supplied to loads, exported to the grid or stored in batteries, while stored energy was discharged during night-time demand. The grid is also able to charge batteries through the inverter. The series supported 48 V lithium-ion batteries with a 40–60 V operating range and a 50 A continuous charge and discharge current. PV input capacity reached up to 6.5 kW with MPPT operation between 100 V and 500 V. The inverter is delivering up to 5 kVA on-grid output and 2.3 kVA in back-up mode. It also achieved a maximum efficiency of 97.6 %, a European efficiency of 97.0 % and a battery-to-AC efficiency of 94.5 %. The unit operated with IP65 protection, natural convection cooling, fanless construction, integrated electrical protections and wall-mounted installation.
