DAS Solar, a Chinese PV manufacture, has developed a “PV + desertification control” strategy for harsh desert conditions. It uses N-type TOPCon modules with ≤1% first year and ≤0.4% annual degradation. The modules offer enhanced heat resistance, bifaciality up to 80%, and symmetrical dual-glass design. TÜV Rheinland has certified its UVID-resistant modules, which will use advanced passivation, refractive coatings and UV-filtering encapsulants. Reinforced steel frames and high-reliability materials help withstand sandstorms, heat, and mechanical stress. A borderless short-edge frame and dust-shedding paths reduce cleaning needs and water use. Arrays also create shaded zones that lower evaporation and wind speeds, supporting native vegetation. DAS Solar's system enables clean power while aiding ecological recovery. Large-scale deployments include the 2 GW Kubuqi and Ulan Buh Desert projects, demonstrating real-world application of its integrated approach. Earlier, DAS Solar partnered with Voltec Solar to co-develop advanced PV systems.
