Xinjiang’s 100 MW Fresnel CSP plant under the CTGR Hami 1 GW “CSP + PV” project has achieved full-system grid connection. The project, contracted by CPECC Northwest, is China’s largest linear-Fresnel CSP-based integrated energy base. It is located in Xishan Township, Hami City, it combines a 100 MW CSP plant with a 900 MW PV facility. The CSP unit, built by Dunhuang Dacheng Shengneng of Lanzhou Dacheng Technology, uses molten-salt linear Fresnel technology with 260,000 reflectors and 8 hours of thermal storage. It has been designed to stabilize PV output and support continuous generation. The project is expected to generate 2.07 billion kWh annually by reducing 1.63 million tons of CO₂. The construction began in March 2024 and was completed in 18 months.
