China based CHN Energy Ningxia Branch has completed trial operation and commercial handover of the 2 GW Lingwu Phase II project. This marked the full commissioning of the 4 GW Lingwu base. It also enabled the entire 6 GW Ningxia coal mining subsidence new energy project to achieve full-capacity grid connection. The project includes 2 GW in Ningdong and 4 GW in Lingwu. It covers about 180,000 mu. Supporting infrastructure includes one 750 kV booster substation, six 330 kV booster substations and 200 km of transmission lines. Electricity will be sent through the Ningxia–Zhejiang ±800 kV Lingzhou–Shaoxing UHVDC line. The project is expected to supply about 10.8 billion kWh each year to East China. This is equal to the annual demand of 7.2 million households. It can also reduce standard coal consumption by around 3.24 million tons annually.
