CEEC Gansu Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., a China-based power engineering company, has ranked first in the EPC general contracting bid for a 2 GW AC PV project in Midong District, Urumqi, Xinjiang. The institute has submitted a bid of RMB 5.044 billion (~ $706.16 million) for the EPC scope, while the 2.6 GW DC project’s total investment has exceeded RMB 10 billion (~ $1.40 billion). According to the disclosed schedule, preliminary work of the asset is set to begin in February 2026, and main construction will commence by the end of March 2026. First few portions of installation are scheduled to achieve grid connection by 31 October 2026. Project's full-capacity commissioning and grid connection are targeted by 30 November 2026, with the overall construction period set at 270 calendar days.
