China-based Astronergy has supplied its ASTRO N5 modules for the Yurbaqua Floating Solar Park in Colombia, which is developed by Enexa and Parque Central Zona Franca. The project’s first phase has an installed capacity of 2.8 MW, expected to produce electricity to 3,000 households and cut over 3,180 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. Built on a water surface, the installation allows power generation without using agricultural or urban land. When completed, Yurbaqua will be among the largest floating solar facilities in Latin America, contributing additional solar capacity to Colombia’s national grid and reflecting the increasing use of water-based photovoltaic systems in regional energy projects. Construction of Phase 2 is reported to be 85 percent complete, with grid connection planned for January 2026.
