China-based UPC Renewables (United Pacific Company)and ACEN (AC Energy Corporation) announced over 500 MW of clean energy projects in India. The project includes a 420 MW solar farm in Barmer, Rajasthan, and a 120 MW wind farm in Karnataka. The project is expected to be completed by early 2027, and are set to generate 1,158 GWh of clean energy annually, that is enough to power around 2.41 lakh homes—and avoid nearly 8.76 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions each year. The Barmer solar facility will contribute 767 GWh, while the Karnataka wind farm will deliver 391 GWh. Over 1,500 jobs are to be created during construction. This new phase builds on UPC’s earlier 630 MWp solar deployment and reflects its ongoing partnership with ACEN to scale clean energy across high-growth markets like India.
