Canon Inc. has developed a high-performance material to improve the durability and production stability of perovskite solar cells, which offer flexibility and can generate electricity from indoor lighting. This material stands out for its ability to provide a thick coating 100 – 200 nm, while maintaining high photoelectric conversion efficiency, a challenge with conventional materials that typically require much thinner coatings. Canon’s innovation tackles durability and scalability challenges crucial for perovskite cells, sensitive to environmental factors. Scheduled for mass production by 2025.
