South African solar energy company, Wetility has secured ZAR 500 million (~$ 27.75 million) in funding from Jaltech to support its national expansion. The capital, structured as senior and equity funding, is expected to add over 16MW of solar capacity and reduce 250,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions. Wetility plans to scale its solar and battery systems for households and SMEs across South Africa, aiming to address widespread energy disruptions such as load shedding. Jaltech, which had previously supported parts of Wetility’s growth, identified the company as a high-impact player in the distributed energy space. This deal shows that Jaltech is now fully supporting Wetility’s long-term plans. Both companies believe this funding model can guide future investments to help bring solar power to more homes and businesses across the country.
