Websol Energy System, a Kolkata-headquartered producer of solar cells and modules, has signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board to examine a new manufacturing proposal. According to Websol Energy System, the agreement was formalised through Websol Renewables, which is its wholly owned subsidiary responsible for project development activities. Websol Renewables has said the MoU is the initial step for evaluating a proposed 4 GW integrated solar cell and module facility in Andhra Pradesh. Websol Energy System stated that the assessment process was expected to consider land availability, infrastructure needs, and regulatory requirements. Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board noted that the cooperation was intended to outline procedural stages necessary for reviewing such large-scale industrial proposals.
