VSB Italy, which has been part of TotalEnergies since 2025, has obtained approval to develop a 6.2 MW agrivoltaic plant in Ponticelli, Umbria.The project will cover 10.6 hectares and supply clean energy for about 3,300 residents. The Construction is expected to start in mid-2026 and the project is planned to be commissioned in 2027. Extra time is included to manage grid connection requirements. The plant will combine solar power with crop rotation of arable and forage crops. This system is aimed at supporting farming, improving soil quality and increasing biodiversity. VSB Italy noted that the project shows how renewable energy can work alongside agriculture.
