Voltalia, a France-based renewable energy producer headquartered in Paris, has confirmed initial output from its 126 MW Sarimay Solar project in Uzbekistan as the facility moved toward final commissioning. The project, awarded in 2022 through a public tender, was developed with a 25-year power purchase agreement defining its commercial framework. Construction began in May 2024 and involved installing more than 180,000 bifacial panels and over 350 inverters across a 180-hectare area. Financing was provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development with additional support mechanisms in place. The project incorporated a large local workforce under defined engineering, procurement and construction supervision procedures. Voltalia is also advancing the Artemisya hybrid project, scheduled to start construction in 2026.
