UrbanVolt, a Dublin-based provider of fully managed solar systems for commercial and industrial clients, has secured a €40 million (~$45 million) debt facility from HSBC to expand operations across Ireland and the UK. According to HSBC, the financing was structured by HSBC Innovation Banking and HSBC Asset Management to support UrbanVolt’s regional growth plans. UrbanVolt provides solar-as-a-service, offering design, financing, installation, and maintenance with fixed-rate electricity for up to 30 years. In 2023, Norwegian investor Verdane had invested €26 million (~$29 million) in equity, and a new CEO was appointed to lead UrbanVolt’s next phase. UrbanVolt has signed over 150 agreements with businesses including Heineken, Flextronics, and Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. UrbanVolt said its total capital raised has reached €230 million (~$257 million), supporting growth in solar service demand.
