Union Coop, consumer cooperative in the UAE, in partnership with Positive Zero, launched a large-scale solar project in Dubai and Umm Al Quwain. The agreement was signed at Union Coop’s Al Warqa City Mall headquarters. The facility will install 17.3 MW of solar panels at 30 sites by mid-2026. It is expected to produce 29.23 GWh of electricity each year, enough to power over 4,000 homes. The system could reduce carbon emissions by 21,650 tons every year which is equivalent to planting 325,000 trees. It supports the UAE's Net Zero 2050 and Energy Strategy 2050 goals. Positive Zero called it one of the largest retail solar agreements in the region and its most extensive UAE retail project to date.
