TUI Group, a global tourism company headquartered in Germany, has inaugurated a rooftop solar installation at its Zaventem headquarters, developed with Eneco Solar. The project included 1,358 low-reflective panels totaling 640 W each, producing about 800 MWh annually covering 53% of the site’s electricity needs, with 70% used on-site. Installed within Brussels Airport’s perimeter, the project required extensive safety, glare, and structural studies, along with approvals from Brussels Airport Company, skeyes, the fire department, and the grid operator. The system powers the Engineering & Maintenance hangar serving TUI fly Belgium and other group airlines. The inauguration featured representatives from TUI Group and Eneco Solar, who highlighted the project’s technical complexity and energy performance within an airport environment.
