China-based Trinasolar, global provider of solar photovoltaic (PV) products and solutions, has supplied high-efficiency solar panels and provided local workforce training for the Limbauan Solar Power Project (LSPP). The project included a 6 MW (DC) system linked to ISELCO-II. It also included a 34 MW (DC) system connected to the 69 kV Tuguegarao-Cabagan line. This connection was made through a 4.73 km transmission facility. The project aimed to employ 500–600 workers during peak construction. The project was expected to generate 59 GWh of electricity annually. It aimed to power 33,000 homes and reduce 31,700 metric tons of CO₂ emissions. The project was developed by BKS Green Energy Corporation, a subsidiary of RGEC, in partnership with PGEC and Japan’s TAISEI Corporation to support Luzon’s power grid. It marked PetroGreen’s first solar investment in Region 2.
