TotalEnergies, Toyota Tsusho and Altaaqa Renewable Energy have reached COD for the 112 MW Wadi Ad-Dawasir solar plant in Saudi Arabia. SEPCO built the project, which was commissioned on July 21. The plant has supplied power to more than 15,000 homes and delivered electricity to the Saudi Power Procurement Company under a PPA. It was also part of Round 3 of the National Renewable Energy Program run by the Ministry of Energy. The project supported efforts to cut liquid-fuel use in power generation. TotalEnergies said it was the company’s first solar project in the country. Zahid Group noted that it supported national renewable goals. TotalEnergies also joined another consortium building the 300 MW Rabigh 2 project under Round 5. The company reported over 30 GW of renewable capacity by mid-2025 and planned further growth by 2030.
