A Japan based Tokyo Century Corporation has entered into an agreement with Kyuden International Corporation to jointly acquire a solar power project in Pennsylvania. Each company held a 50% equity stake in the project. The project was developed by Oriden LLC, a US renewable energy developer under the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group. It involved the construction of an approximately 20 MW solar power plant. Commercial operation was scheduled to begin in October 2026. A 20-year power purchase agreement was concluded with the Philadelphia Energy Authority for the plant’s full output. Tokyo Century and Kyuden International were expected to jointly operate the facility. The project followed Tokyo Century’s earlier US renewable energy investments announced in June 2024.
