Saudi Arabia’s supermarket chains, Tamimi Markets and Yellow Door Energy has signed a solar lease deal in Saudi Arabia. The project has a total capacity of 0.9 MW across Jeddah and Dammam. Jeddah’s fulfillmentcenter received 465 kW, while Dammam’s two sites got 435 kW. Over 1,500 bifacial solar panels are being installed on 7,200 sq m of rooftops. The plants are expected to generate 1.5 million kilowatt-hours in the first year. This output is estimated to cut 586 metric tonnes of COâ‚‚ annually. Construction is underway and scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. Under the lease, Yellow Door Energy is financing, designing, building, and maintaining the systems. Tamimi Markets continues to focus on retail operations while using solar energy.
