Svea Solar, a leading solar park developer in Sweden, signed land agreements with Stora Enso, a major private forest owner. They planned to build eight solar parks on Stora Enso’s land, mainly in central Sweden and southern Norrland. The total estimated capacity was around 500 MW, enough to power 40,000 households or half a nuclear reactor. The sites were selected for easy grid access and minimal effect on nature and wildlife. The first solar park was planned for construction in 2026, with most projects set for completion by 2030. Svea Solar had already built the 6 MW Skakelbacken solar park on Stora Enso’s land in Ludvika, scheduled to start operating in April.
