Sunrev Solar, a Chinese photovoltaic (PV) manufacturer, has launched construction of an integrated solar components complex in Ain Sokhna. The project is part of TEDA–Egypt and covers 200,000 square meters. Total investment for the project is $200 million. The first phase includes $90 million for factories producing 2 GW of solar cells, 2 GW of solar modules, and related lines. The second phase, worth $110 million, will localize the production of silicon ingots and wafers. It will also expand solar cells and module output. The contract was signed in the presence of Egypt’s Prime Minister and Industry Minister. SCZONE, Sunrev Solar, and TEDA officials attended the groundbreaking. The project will create over 1,800 direct jobs. Operations are expected to begin in early 2026.
