Bulgaria-based SUNOTEC secured financing for seven renewable energy projects in Bulgaria in September 2025. The portfolio included one co-located solar PV and battery project and six standalone battery energy storage system projects, totaling 115 MWp of solar capacity and 763 MWh of storage. The projects were owned fully by SUNOTEC or jointly through Solaris Holding AD, a 50/50 venture with Eurohold Bulgaria AD. The Bulgarian Ministry of Energy approved the standalone BESS projects for subsidies under the Restore program to support large-scale storage deployment. These developments strengthened SUNOTEC’s and Solaris Holding’s positions as major investors in solar and energy storage within Bulgaria.
