Maryland-based Standard Solar, a portfolio company of Brookfield, has acquired two community solar projects in Zion and Kankakee County, Illinois, from Cenergy Power, a national solar developer . The projects totaled over 9 MW and aimed to provide renewable energy to residents and businesses. The Zion site had a 2.53 MW fixed-tilt array expected to produce around 3,705 MWh annually. The Kankakee site was a 6.65 MW system projected to generate about 10,507 MWh annually. Both projects were scheduled for completion in early 2026. The acquisition brought Standard Solarโs Illinois portfolio to over 150 MW. Cenergy Power developed the projects, while Standard Solar took over ownership and operation.ย
