Solmotion, a Ravensburg-based solar developer, has received approval for two agri-PV plants in Waldburg with a total capacity of 18 MW. The first plant in Neuwaldburg is planned across 13 hectares with 8 MW capacity. The second, totaling 10 MW, will span 2.7 hectares near the Kalksteig roundabout and 8 hectares near Greut. Both projects are to include modern battery storage systems to enhance grid integration. Solmotion, which earlier developed a 10 MW agri-PV plant in Schlier, reported having 400 MW of projects in planning across southern Germany. Implementation is scheduled to begin in 2025, with up to 100 MW expected in 2026. The municipality and citizens were offered participation through subordinated loans or inverter share purchases.
