Solfium, a Canadian Mexican startup for rooftop solar solutions, has signed a new agreement with Jalisco’s Energy Secretariat and Energy Agency. The partnership aims to expand distributed solar generation across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. The deal, announced during the CanCham Mexico CEO Roundtable, involved state officials and the Canadian ambassador. A digital platform will be used to identify installation sites, monitor projects, and connect users with certified installers. Jalisco receives 5.6 kWh/m² of daily solar radiation and, along with Yucatán and Nuevo León, accounts for 60% of Mexico’s distributed generation capacity. The initiative also includes financing schemes, a certified installer registry, and vocational training for young people to build skills in the solar sector. Solfium has previously entered similar agreements with agencies in Yucatán, Querétaro, Nuevo León, and Puebla.
