Under the patronage of MODON, SIG and Yellow Door Energy have inaugurated a 2 MW rooftop solar power plant at SIG’s aseptic carton factory in Riyadh’s Second Industrial City. The project was one of Saudi Arabia’s first industrial solar installations connected to the national grid. The facility is covering around 8,000 square meters with over 3,200 panels, it generated about 3.5 million kWh of electricity annually and reduced 1,300 metric tons of CO₂.The Construction began in early 2025 and finished within six months. The project supported the MODON Green Initiative and Vision 2030 targets. Yellow Door Energy financed, built, and operated the plant under a solar lease, while SIG focused on low-carbon packaging. The project followed their earlier 304 kW solar installation in Dubai.
