Shizen Energy Inc. reached 100 MW of long-term Renewable Energy Purchase Agreements with Microsoft Corporation for four solar power projects in Japan. The milestone followed Microsoft’s first deal for the Inuyama Solar Power Plant. Three additional 20-year agreements were later signed for projects in the Kyushu and Chugoku regions. All projects achieved financial close, with one in Kyushu already operational and others under construction. Shizen Engineering Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, handled part of the construction, while Shizen Operations Inc. managed operations and asset management. The agreements reflected growing confidence in renewable power purchase arrangements in Japan’s energy market.
