Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), headquartered in New Delhi, and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to install solar power plants along the elevated section of the Delhi Saharanpur Dehradun highway. The agreement, signed in the presence of Minister of State Shri Harsh Malhotra, aims to integrate renewable energy with national highway infrastructure. According to SECI, the initiative will generate clean power for highway operations, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and demonstrate the feasibility of large-scale solar deployment in public infrastructure. The collaboration aligns with India’s commitment to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2070 and promote sustainable energy-based transport development.
