Madrid-headquartered Repsol, a multi-energy company, has sold a 49% stake in a €580 million ($626.02 million), 400 MW of wind and solar portfolio in Spain to Schroders Greencoat, renewable infrastructure investment manager firm. The portfolio included eight wind farms (300 MW) in Huesca, Zaragoza, and Teruel, and two solar plants (100 MW) in Palencia. All assets were expected to be operational in the first half of 2025. Repsol retained asset control and secured €348 million (~$375.61 million) in long-term financing from BBVA, Crédit Agricole CIB, Banco Sabadell and ICO in December 2024. The deal marked the first investment from the Schroders Greencoat Europe SCSp Fund, which closed its first funding round in November 2024. This was Repsol’s fifth transaction of this type since November 2021.
