Repsol has achieved commercial operations at its 629 MW Outpost solar project in Webb County, Texas. The project, located near Laredo, is supported by a long-term power purchase agreement. It is the company’s fourth utility-scale solar facility to begin operations in the United States. With Outpost online, Repsol’s operational renewable capacity in the country has reached 1.4 GW. Another 1.4 GW of capacity is currently under construction across multiple sites. The company has also taken steps to optimize its portfolio through asset rotations. In addition, Repsol partnered with Stonepeak to secure capital for further expansion in the US renewable energy market.
