Renewable Connections, a UK’s developers of solar and battery energy storage projects, has received approval from Canterbury City Council on 4 July 2025. The Britton Court project includes a 38 MW solar array and 30 MW battery system. It is planned across 56 hectares between Tyler Hill and Radfall in Kent. The site spans eight fields divided by Hackington Road. The project is expected to power upto 15,000 homes and support the local grid. Renewable Connections has submitted the plan in December 2024 after talks with local groups and officials. The approval means it can be included in the NESO Gate 2 process. Biodiversity work will add grassland, improve hedgerows, and create 25 skylark plots. Extra habitats will be made for reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
