India-based ReNew Energy Global Plc secured $331 million financing from the Asian Development Bank as part of a $477 million package for its clean energy project in Andhra Pradesh. The remaining $146 million was to be arranged by ADB through other lenders. The project integrated 837 MW of wind and solar capacity with a 415 MWh battery energy storage system, is designed to deliver 300 MW of peak power and enhance grid reliability. It was expected to generate 1,641 GWh of electricity annually. The financing included up to $291 million in local currency from ADB’s capital resources and $40 million from the LEAP 2 fund. The project marked ADB’s first financing of a round-the-clock renewable system combining wind, solar, and storage in India.
