ReNew Energy Global Plc, an India-based decarbonisation solutions provider, had announced in May 2025 an investment of INR 22,000 crore (~ $2.5 billion) to develop a hybrid renewable project of about 2.8 GW in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district. ReNew has now reported that it signed four MoUs with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board to add a further INR 60,000 crore (~ $6.7 billion) of planned investments in the state. ReNew stated that its combined new commitments in Andhra Pradesh therefore stand at nearly INR 82,000 crore (~ $9.3 billion). ReNew has outlined plans for a 6 GW ingot-wafer manufacturing facility, a 2 GW pumped hydro project, a 300 KTPA green ammonia plant and 5 GW of hybrid assets involving wind–solar and storage. ReNew also referenced its existing operational capacity in the state, which includes wind and solar installations across multiple locations.
