Redwire, a Florida-based space infrastructure developer, has completed the first deployment test of its 60kW Roll-Out Solar Arrays for NASA’s lunar Gateway Power and Propulsion Element. The arrays, developed under contract from Maxar Technologies, a Colorado-based space technology company and the Gateway PPE prime contractor, will support solar electric propulsion for deep space missions. Redwire confirmed that two ROSA wings are scheduled for final delivery to Maxar Technologies by the fourth quarter of 2025 after further testing. The arrays will provide power for lunar and Martian exploration as part of NASA’s long-duration space operations. Redwire hosted representatives from Maxar Technologies, Northrop Grumman, the European Space Agency, the Canadian Consulate, Japan’s JAXA, and the UAE’s MBRSC during the test event.
