REDEN opens 23.5 MW solar plant in Italy

In Italy, REDEN has inaugurated its first photovoltaic plant by converting a former Codroipo ammunition site into a 23.5 MW solar facility.

France based REDEN, global photovoltaic energy and storage producer, has inaugurated a 23.5 MW solar plant in Codroipo, Italy, on April 4, 2025, repurposing a former ammunition depot. The plant powers 11,000 households and prevents 22,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually.The transformation was done in coordination with the Municipality of Codroipo. The event marked REDEN’s first photovoltaic project in Italy and supported the country’s regional redevelopment and energy transition goals.The former Mangiarotti ammunition depot in Codroipo, once used for war production, was converted by REDEN into a renewable energy hub. Recently, Banque des Territoires and REDEN partnered to launch REDEN Territoires, a platform advancing 900 MW of solar energy.
