France based REDEN, global photovoltaic energy and storage producer, has inaugurated a 23.5 MW solar plant in Codroipo, Italy, on April 4, 2025, repurposing a former ammunition depot. The plant powers 11,000 households and prevents 22,000 tons of COâ‚‚ emissions annually.The transformation was done in coordination with the Municipality of Codroipo. The event marked REDEN’s first photovoltaic project in Italy and supported the country’s regional redevelopment and energy transition goals.The former Mangiarotti ammunition depot in Codroipo, once used for war production, was converted by REDEN into a renewable energy hub. Recently, Banque des Territoires and REDEN partnered to launch REDEN Territoires, a platform advancing 900 MW of solar energy.
