Polish-based Quanta Energy, part of R.Power Group, has completed a 3.1 MW solar installation for Volkswagen in Września, by increasing the total project capacity to 18.3 MW. The system include 31,000 photovoltaic panels covering an area equal to 38 football pitches, capable of making the plant energy self-sufficient on sunny days. The project ranked among the five largest on-site solar farms in Europe. The installation was weighed over 430 tons and used 150 kilometres of cabling. Quanta Energy CEO Piotr Grzybczak said that the project has reflected long-term planning and partnership with Volkswagen Poznań in developing large-scale energy initiatives.
