QIC, a Brisbane-based investment manager focused on infrastructure, has signed an exclusivity agreement with EDP Renewables Australia, a Sydney-based developer of large-scale renewable projects, for the Punchs Creek Renewable Energy Project in Queensland. According to QIC, the 480 MW solar farm and 400 MW / 1,600 MWh battery system is targeted for financial close in early 2026 and has the potential to secure long-tenured offtake arrangements. EDPR Australia said the agreement has marked its first Australian project and supports its plan to scale hybrid capacity across prioritized markets. QIC added that the partnership aligns with its broader energy transition strategy and complements activities linked to its recent appointment under the Queensland Government’s Energy Roadmap for priority project facilitation.
