Qcells, a South Korea-based solar panel manufacturer with operations in the US, has launched EcoRecycle in June 2025 to manage growing solar waste. Qcells has established a recycling facility in Georgia, creating the first full-cycle crystalline silicon solar operation on US soil. According to Qcells, the plant is designed to recycle up to 250 MW or 500,000 panels annually, recovering aluminum, glass, silver, and copper. EcoRecycle is focused on reducing landfill disposal by using advanced separation technologies and panel take-back services for efficient recovery. Qcells said that the recovered materials will be reused in solar manufacturing to support circular production and lower emissions. The company is planning to expand EcoRecycle into a national network to streamline logistics and improve processing efficiency under evolving US solar recycling regulations.
