PVV Infra, an India-based infrastructure and energy solutions company, has outlined a INR 750 crore (~ $89.3 million) plan to establish a 1 GW N Type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing unit. The facility is planned through an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, as per PVV Infra. The project is planned on a 30 acre industrial site within the state’s emerging solar cell manufacturing cluster. This project has been positioned to support regional industrial expansion, according to PVV Infra. The company said the investment is expected to create 350 direct jobs and over 450 indirect jobs while strengthening local supply capabilities. PVV Infra has stated that it will leverage expertise in technology, planning, design, investment and equipment sourcing to operationalise the advanced facility.
