Plenitude connects new 130 MW solar plant to the grid in Spain

Italy-based Plenitude, arenewables and retail energy arm of Eni, has started operations at the northern block of its Renopool solar plant in Badajoz, Spain. The block consists of three plants with a combined capacity of 130 MW. It is expected to generate over 265 GWh annually. Renopool will reach 330 MW capacity across seven plants by the end of 2025. The project is in Solana de los Barros, Extremadura. OHLA was the main contractor for construction. Local authorities supported project development and permitting activities. Plenitude has implemented measures to protect native species and soil quality. An agreement with the University of Extremadura enables five years of environmental research. The company currently has 1,300 MW of installed renewable capacity in Spain. Further projects are under development.In the same period, Plenitude welcomed Ares Management as a shareholder to advance its energy portfolio.
